Moxabustion or moxa is a Chinese herb that is burnt by the acupuncturist over the acupuncture points. It is a useful and effective treatment that is often used alongside acupuncture, cupping and tuina massage.
Moxabustion is a relaxing therapeutic method that uses the burning of specific herbs over the acupuncture point or the affected area in order to produce a warm / hot stimulation to the patient. This heat acts on the acupuncture point, warming the needle and further enhancing the treatment to improve the balance of the body.
